setting,
The New Divide takes place in the fictional fantasy city of Graycross. It's a very diverse city that has its typical downtown, slums, and suburban surroundings. Graycross welcomes all walks of life, but that doesn't mean those living in it are just as accepting, and while there is the general unspoken rule of respect and equality the tension between the species is still present.
On the outside Graycross looks very clean and well-functioning, but to those familiar of it they know that it has the same problems every city does - crime, impoverished areas, raunchy party scenes, etc. Regardless of someone's financial status or living conditions everyone within the city is what makes up the city. The suburbs are less crowded than the inner city and there is also vast space offered for farms and animal stables so that organic produce and goods can be sold in the city along with corporation based products that get shipped in from around the world.
North to the city is a heavy wilderness area, but the lack of civilization doesn't deter the citizens of Graycross. Most of the species are in tune with nature, Fayes especially, so they seek adventure or peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The closer one gets to the dormant volcano to the north the thicker the forest is. Many different creatures lurk out there so it is wise to not get lost out there alone, especially as the sun begins to set.
