locations,
We've left our In Character roleplay boards broad as to give members plenty of room for creativity. In this thread we have a list of various locations as to give members a better visual for where they'd want their threads to take place as well as many options for jobs if one wishes to give their character one. This list will always be updating as we add locations, turn one of these on the list into an actual sub-board, or receive member requests for personalized locations.
graycross city,
Graycross City is a melting pot in the sense that all species have contributed in building it from the ground up. For that reason there are many places for tourists and citizens alike to visit. There are also many job opportunities available in the heart of the city.
- MAIN STREET BAR & GRILLE (downtown)- A cozy, casual restaurant for patrons to eat at. It even has an outside patio for those who want to enjoy the weather or brought along their furry companion.
- THE GOLDEN PHOENIX (downtown) - Sorcerer owned, it is a high end restaurant with a dress code, The Golden Phoenix offers pricey entrees. If one wants to impress their date they bring them here.
- GALAXY CLUB (downtown) - A dance club and bar that's open only Thursday through Sunday. It sometimes is closed off for private shows that require the purchase of a ticket, but otherwise there is no cover.
- SERENITY SPA (midtown) - A spa created by a Faye couple for those overworked and stressed or just in need of a day of pampering. It's full of natural remedies and aromatherapy.
- THE INK DROP (downtown) - Not the only tattoo studio in Graycross, but definitely the most renowned.
- PAINT SPLATTER (outside beckinsdale campus) - An art studio with seemingly endless art supplies. The top floor holds employye and volunteer run classes.
- GRAYCROSS PARK (near apartment complexes) - A park set in the middle of downtown, it has a playground for kids, a section for those who wish to work out, and a fountain. There's a large duck pond as well that channels off to the nearest river that splits through the Outskirts.
- POLICE STATION (downtown) - It is as the title says.
- GRAYCROSS MUSEUM (midtown) - If one is interested in the history of the city of Graycross this is a great place to venture it. Class trips a common thing there.
the outskirts,
The Outskirts is known to be the slummier version of Graycross. It's industrial and a bit dirtier with higher crime rates. For that reason there isn't much around to do as businesses find it safer to establish themselves either in the city or in the suburbs. That's not to say there is nothing to do.
- THE PONY KEG - A rinky dink little dive bar that serves mostly beer and bottle shelf liquor, it is owned by an old Howler. There's no food on the menu, just cheap whiskey and vodka.
- WATER'S EDGE RESTAURANT - This restaurant is built along the docks so the patrons have a nice waterfront view. Some tables are even set up outside on the dock.
- COME AN' EAT - The only 24 hour diner in the Outskirts, it remains pretty busy full of teenagers and young drunks in their twenties who are having late nights with their friends. It's very casual in that the employees don't even have a uniform.
- THE PAGE TRAIN - It's a large bookstore in Graycross, unfortunately placed in the outskirts. It's two levels high full of reading areas for book lovers to spend their days before they make their purchases.
- BUS STATION - This is the bus station that heads people in and out of the city.
- WATERSIDE DOCKS - The trading and cargo ships come in this way as far as their boats can fit. The docks are where Graycross receive import shipments.
- POWER PLANT & FACTORIES - Completely off limits doesn't mean anything as some find fun in trespassing where they shouldn't. Although it's not very safe beyond those fences...
- THE GREAT DRAGON ADVENTURE - A large theme park that sits on the edge of the outskirts, it's full of rides that range from kiddie to adrenaline-inducing.
suburbs,
The surburbs have a variety of businesses from restaurants to family owned shops. It is heavily Rorqual and Wyvern run as their farms are on the edge of the suburbs. It's very cozy, save for the uppity little bistro that requires a dress code.
- MCKINNON'S PUB - It's a classier bar that serves everything from pub pretzels to wings to burgers. It's usually packed on the weekends, and on some nights local cover bands play.
- BISTRO 1896 - A small restaurant in the suburbs, it's not quite as well known as The Golden Phoenix but it is a nice place to bring that special someone for dinner.
- CLAIRE'S CAFE - A Howler own coffee shop, Claire's cafe is a family owned cafe located in the suburbs. Students frequent the shop during lunch breaks and after class is out. Best hurry, though, as it closes by 4 pm.
- CEDARWOOD PARK - The park isn't grand by any means but it is a great place to bring your kids, or your pets if they need some exercise. There is a curfew at 10 pm, lest you wanna risk documentation by the patrol officers.
- FARAH FAMILY STORE - Rorqual owned, this store is heavy with vegetarian and vegan options. If one is looking to purchase meat products they will suggest you visit Benny's or a corporate store in the city.
- BENNY'S DELI & BUTCHER SHOP - Wyvern owned, they work beside Farah Family Store. The meat is from livestock owned by the largest animal agriculture farmer farmer in Graycross as nothing is imported. For that reason it is pricier, but to those who like their meat they will say it's worth it.
- FARMER'S MARKET - Every Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 to 5:00 PM, and every Saturday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM there is a Farmer's Market open to all the public for local farmers to sell their product. Weather permitting, of course.
- GRAYCROSS TRAIN STATION - As with the bus station, this is another public transport that leads to in and out of Graycross City.
wilderness,
Just because it's the wilderness doesn't mean some business owners didn't set up shop out there. Though they are spread out and relatively hidden, they still exist. The combat soldiers also have training grounds out there, and some land is considered sacred to certain species.
- THE SLEEPY DRAGON - A quiant campground placed out in the wilderness for those outside of Graycross visiting, or residents who need a little break from busy city life.
- THE SECRET ORCHARD - Run by Fayes this is an apple orchard hidden in the deep forest. Without a map you would likely not be able to find it.
- GRAYCROSS ANIMAL SANCTUARY - Wild and domesticated animals alike are cared for here. Be it a wild one that was injured, the volunteers will rehabilitate the poor thing for release. As for a domesticated companion, they will be housed until someone comes along to welcome them into their family.
- HUNTING GROUNDS - Mostly reserved for Wyverns, the hunting grounds are marked in the deep forest for all to practice the sport... if killing things is their cup of tea.
- STONY CREEK VINEYARD - In the valley this special vineyard can be found. It's a relaxing place to spend a nice day.
- WHISPERWIND SHRINE - This is where Fayes and Rorquals go to pray to and thank the spirits of the natural world for all they've harvested and anything else they believe they should express gratitude for. It is also a place for them to say a prayer to a lost loved one.
- GRAYCROSS TRAINING BASE - Every place has an army of some sort, and this is where the soldiers train. There is a small subsection for new police officers and fire fighters to be trained and tested on their physical prowess.
- ASHSTORM SUMMIT - This is the dormant volcano to the north. It is kept off limits to any travelers for safety reasons, although there has been no recent concern of it erupting. It shaped the land Graycross is built on and it an important symbol for the city.
